A chapter should move the story forward. Its length depends on the scene, the pace, and what the reader needs to understand. Novel47 has a 500-word minimum; the suggested 1,500–4,000-word range is guidance, not a target you have to fill with extra text.
Open the right novel
Sign in and go to your own profile. In My Novels, choose Add Chapter on the story you want to update. Check the selected novel, then add a clear chapter title and optional subtitle. These details help readers recognize where they are in the story.
Write the original version
Use headings, paragraphs, lists, or a scene break when the story needs them. The action bar stays available as the document grows. Save a device draft while working, and keep a separate backup of writing you cannot afford to lose. Device drafts depend on the browser where you saved them.
Add a cover or reuse an image
A chapter cover is optional. Upload artwork you are authorized to use, or select a thumbnail from Your uploaded images. The library includes artwork already saved in your novels and chapters, so selecting it reuses the existing image without another upload. Check the full reader preview to see whether an image interrupts the text.
Work on translations
The Original tab contains the source chapter. Choose another language tab to add an authorized translation. You can start from the original layout, but replacing the words is your responsibility. The language name should describe the version actually supplied. Admin inspection can switch between the original and every submitted translation.
Import, preview, and export
The studio accepts text, Markdown, and image imports. Review the result after importing because source formatting can vary. Reader preview helps you check the chapter as a reading experience. Export TXT uses the selected language; Print / Save as PDF opens the browser print flow.
Submit and follow its status
When the chapter is ready, submit it. The confirmation explains that it is awaiting admin review. A pending badge on your profile means the chapter is not public yet. The novel itself must also be approved. After approval, the chapter is available to readers, the public feeds update, and its URL is included in the sitemap.
